The AV-F80 is a short-path molecular distillation apparatus built around a Ø 80 mm borosilicate glass evaporator body with 0.1 m² of evaporation area and 0.15 m² of condensation area. Doubling the throughput of bench-top models, it processes 0.5–4.0 L/h in a compact footprint — the ideal bridge between small-scale feasibility studies and pilot production.
Molecular distillation is a special liquid–liquid separation technology: under high vacuum (below 10 Pa), the mean free path of vapor molecules exceeds the distance between the evaporation and condensation surfaces, so components are separated by their differences in evaporation rate — not by boiling. A 120 W PTFE / 304 SS wiper system (up to 450 rpm) spreads the feed into a turbulent film thinner than 0.5 mm on the heated wall (RT–200 °C); light components evaporate and condense on the internal condenser, while heavy components flow to a separate 1 L receiver. A built-in cold trap protects the vacuum pump, and an external condenser is available as an option.
Compared with conventional short-path stills, the AV-F80 delivers shorter residence time, lower processing temperature and continuous operation without breaking vacuum — a true plug-and-play, turn-key solution for lab and pilot purification of high-boiling, heat-sensitive and easily oxidized materials.
