SS Wiped Film Molecular Distillation Equipment

The AV-F150S is a large pilot-scale, fully automatic stainless steel molecular distillation apparatus. The Ø 150 mm evaporator body, 3 L feed vessel and 3 L receivers are all built from SS 304/316L and sealed with premium PTFE for high vacuum integrity and long service life.

Molecular distillation is the safest and most efficient separation method for thermally unstable molecules and low-volatility, high-boiling compounds. Under high vacuum (below 10 Pa), vapor molecules travel directly from the heated film to the internal condenser — separation completes in seconds, at temperatures far below the boiling point.

With a 0.25 m² evaporation area and 1.0 – 8.0 L/h throughput, the AV-F150S covers pilot production and small-batch manufacturing. Automatic feeding and collection enable continuous, unattended operation — plug and play, no vacuum break between batches.

Structure

The complete system is mounted on a compact SS skid: feed vessel and metering pump on top, Ø 150 mm wiped-film evaporator with heating jacket at the center, internal condenser inside the body, light and heavy receivers below, plus cold trap, cooling device and vacuum system — all controlled from one PLC panel.

Working Principle

Feed is metered automatically (1.0 – 8.0 L/h) from a 3 L SS vessel onto the heated wall of the Ø 150 mm SS evaporator. Rotating SS wipers spread it into a thin film; under vacuum below 10 Pa, light molecules fly directly onto the internal condenser (mean free path > evaporator–condenser gap) while heavy molecules flow to a separate receiver — both 3 L receivers collect automatically, with no boiling and no thermal stress.
