Laboratory Fluid Bed Granulator and Coater
The AV-LFB100 laboratory fluid bed granulator is designed for small-batch granulation, drying and coating in pharmaceutical, food, feed and chemical.
The AV-LFB100 laboratory fluid bed granulator is designed for small-batch granulation, drying and coating in pharmaceutical, food, feed and chemical research. Filtered process air is heated and distributed through the product container to fluidize the powder or granules. A peristaltic pump delivers binder solution or coating liquid to a top-spray or bottom-spray nozzle, enabling controlled particle growth or coating in one compact system.
Its stainless-steel construction, observation window, adjustable airflow and PLC touch-screen controls make it suitable for formulation development, teaching laboratories and process trials.

Key Advantages
| Three processes in one unit Use the same laboratory platform for fluid bed granulation, fluid bed drying and particle coating. | Small-batch development Process 0.5-1.0 kg per batch for granulation and 0.3-0.7 kg per batch for coating. |
|---|---|
| Flexible spray arrangement Support top-spray granulation and bottom-spray coating according to the process setup. | Stable fluidization Variable-frequency fan control allows the operator to adjust process airflow for the material. |
| Clear process control PLC and color touch screen provide automatic operation, manual adjustment and parameter memory. | Easy observation and cleaning The stainless-steel expansion chamber includes a viewing window, and removable parts simplify cleaning. |
Working Principle
- The process follows a controlled air-and-spray cycle:
- Process note: Airflow is adjusted by variable-frequency fan control. Binder or coating liquid is supplied by the peristaltic pump, while the bag filter retains entrained particles before air discharge.

- Discuss Your Material
- For configuration advice, provide the material name, target batch size, binder or coating liquid, preferred spray mode and required final particle characteristics.

| Top-spray granulation | Binder solution is sprayed into the fluidized powder bed. Repeated wetting, collision and drying build particles into free-flowing granules. |
|---|---|
| Bottom-spray coating | Coating liquid is atomized from below while particles circulate through the spray zone, supporting uniform film deposition on pellets or granules. |
