Two short path distillation units have been shipped to a botanical extract laboratory in Canada for the purification of high-value plant extracts. Both units were configured for high-vacuum operation and supplied with a complete glassware set, vacuum pump and cold trap package.

Project Highlights

The laboratory works with a wide range of feed materials and needed equipment that could be reconfigured quickly between campaigns. The wiper assembly and internal condenser can therefore be removed without breaking the main vacuum seal.

  • High-borosilicate 3.3 glassware with PTFE wiper blades
  • Operating pressure down to 0.1 mbar for low-boiling fractions
  • Dual cold traps with dry ice and liquid nitrogen compatibility
  • Interchangeable receiving flasks for rapid campaign changeover

Training & Process Support

Before shipment, the customer’s process team joined a two-day remote training session covering vacuum operation, wiper speed optimisation and cleaning procedures. Both units were pressure-tested and run with the customer’s own feed material at our application centre, so start-up conditions were already known.
