Spray Dryer Line Exported to Thailand for Plant Extract Production
A centrifugal spray dryer line has been exported to Thailand, where it will produce plant extract powders for the food supplement industry. The line includes the drying chamber, cyclone, bag filter, air heater and powder collection system, supplied as a complete package.
Project Highlights
The customer’s extracts are rich in sugars and tend to stick to hot metal surfaces. The dryer was therefore configured with a co-current airflow pattern and a controlled outlet temperature to keep the powder below its glass transition point.
- 5 kg/h water evaporation capacity at 150 °C inlet temperature
- Rotary atomiser with variable speed for particle size control
- Cyclone plus bag filter for high powder recovery and clean exhaust
- Food-grade 316L stainless steel product contact surfaces
Commissioning & Product Trials
The line was assembled and dry-tested at our factory before shipment, and the customer attended a trial run with a representative extract sample. On site, the system was started up in four days and produced a free-flowing powder with a moisture content below 4%.
“The powder no longer cakes in the collection vessel, which was the main problem with our previous dryer.” — Production Manager, Thai Customer
Spray dryers, fluid bed granulators and nitrogen concentrators complete our range of laboratory and industrial drying equipment.
