The AV-B80S is a stainless steel wiped-film evaporator (thin-film evaporator) built for continuous liquid–liquid separation under high vacuum. A rotating PTFE wiper system spreads the feed into a thin, continuously renewed film on the heated inner wall, so evaporation is completed within seconds at a low distillation temperature — a decisive advantage for heat-sensitive products.

The complete system integrates the heating jacket, evaporator column, wiper rotor, condenser, cold trap and vacuum circuit with automatic feeding and collecting, offering a plug-and-play thin film distillation unit for the laboratory and pilot plants — ideal as a step-up from the bench-top AV-B80S.

03 DESIGN & STRUCTURE

  • The AV-B80S is engineered around the evaporator column with every element working as one system: a 304/316L stainless steel body, PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) seals that keep the chamber airtight under high vacuum, a scraper-type short-path distillation rotor, and an automatic feed/collect circuit — giving stable, high-efficiency separation performance.

04 WORKING PRINCIPLE

  • 1. Feed enters under vacuum — Under high vacuum, the feed liquid is drawn into the top of the evaporator from the 1 L feed bottle.
  • 2. Thin film evaporation — Rotating PTFE wipers spread the liquid into a thin film over the heated wall (up to 200 °C); the light, low-boiling fraction evaporates within seconds.
  • 3. Vapor → condenser — The vaporized light fraction flows to the condenser and cold trap, then collects as distillate in the light-fraction receiver (1 L).
  • 4. Residue → receiver — The un-evaporated heavy fraction is wiped downward and drained into the heavy-fraction receiver (1 L). The cycle runs continuously.
  • Why it matters: the thin, fast-renewing film together with high vacuum keeps the product at temperature for only seconds, which is why wiped-film evaporators are preferred for heat-sensitive, viscous and fouling-prone feeds.
